Morphology

  1. וְאֶת־הַמְּכֹנֹ֖ות (ve-et ha-mekhonot) – Root: כון (kun); Form: Conjunction + direct object marker + definite noun, feminine plural; Translation: “and the stands”; Notes: Refers to the wheeled bases supporting the lavers.
  2. עָ֑שֶׂר (ʿaser) – Root: עשר (ʿsr); Form: Numeral, feminine; Translation: “ten”; Notes: Modifies the feminine plural noun “mekhonot.”
  3. וְאֶת־הַכִּיֹּרֹ֥ת (ve-et ha-kiyyorot) – Root: כיר (kiyyor); Form: Conjunction + direct object marker + definite noun, feminine plural; Translation: “and the lavers”; Notes: Ritual basins placed on the stands.
  4. עֲשָׂרָ֖ה (ʿasarah) – Root: עשר (ʿsr); Form: Numeral, masculine; Translation: “ten”; Notes: Grammatically masculine but used in parallel with the previous numeral; the noun “kiyyorot” is feminine, but numerals often follow this pattern.
  5. עַל־הַמְּכֹנֹֽות (ʿal ha-mekhonot) – Root: על (ʿal), כון (kun); Form: Preposition + definite noun, feminine plural; Translation: “upon the stands”; Notes: Indicates the placement of the lavers.
