Deuteronomy 8:5

וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ עִם־לְבָבֶ֑ךָ כִּ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יְיַסֵּ֥ר אִישׁ֙ אֶת־בְּנֹ֔ו יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מְיַסְּרֶֽךָּ׃

And you shall know in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so YHWH your God disciplines you.
