  2. אָמַר (amar) – Root: אמר (ʾamar); Form: Qal perfect 3rd person masculine singular; Translation: “has said”; Notes: Used with divine subjects in prophetic proclamations (“Thus says YHWH”).
  3. אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה (Adonai YHWH) – Root: —; Form: Compound divine title; Translation: “Lord YHWH”; Notes: The juxtaposition of Adonai (Sovereign) and YHWH (Covenant Name) intensifies divine authority.
  4. וּפָרַשְׂתִּי (u-farashti) – Root: פרשׂ (paras); Form: Qal perfect 1st person singular with prefixed conjunction וּ; Translation: “and I will spread”; Notes: Perfect used prophetically with future sense; depicts YHWH’s decisive action of entrapping Pharaoh.
  5. עָלֶיךָ (ʿalekha) – Root: על (ʿal); Form: Preposition + suffix 2nd person masculine singular; Translation: “over you”; Notes: Expresses subjugation — YHWH’s net metaphorically envelops Pharaoh.
  6. אֶת־רִשְׁתִּי (et-rishti) – Root: רשת (reshet); Form: Direct object marker + noun feminine singular with 1st person singular suffix; Translation: “My net”; Notes: A common prophetic image of divine judgment and entrapment, emphasizing ownership and control.

  10. וְהֶעֱלוּךָ (ve-heʿelukha) – Root: עלה (ʿalah); Form: Hiphil perfect 3rd person plural with 2nd person masculine singular suffix + conjunction וְ; Translation: “and they shall lift you up”; Notes: Hiphil denotes causative action — Pharaoh is forcibly raised or dragged up, as a trapped creature pulled from water.
  11. בְּחֶרְמִי (be-ḥermi) – Root: חרם (ḥerem/ḥerm); Form: Preposition בְ + noun masculine singular + suffix 1st person singular; Translation: “in My net” or “in My mesh”; Notes: Parallels רִשְׁתִּי with a synonym; the word denotes a fishing device or hunting snare.
