Isaiah 45:22

פְּנוּ־אֵלַ֥י וְהִוָּשְׁע֖וּ כָּל־אַפְסֵי־אָ֑רֶץ כִּ֥י אֲנִי־אֵ֖ל וְאֵ֥ין עֹֽוד׃

Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Morphology

  1. פְּנוּ (penu) – Root: פנה; Form: Qal imperative masculine plural; Translation: “Turn”; Notes: A direct command addressed to multiple people.
  2. אֵלַ֥י (ʾelay) – Root: אל; Form: Preposition with 1st person singular pronominal suffix; Translation: “to Me”; Notes: Indicates the direction of the action toward YHWH.
  3. וְהִוָּשְׁע֖וּ (ve-hiwwāšəʿu) – Root: ישׁע; Form: Nifal imperative masculine plural (with waw conjunction); Translation: “and be saved”; Notes: Passive/reflexive imperative, calling the nations to receive salvation.
  4. כָּל־אַפְסֵי־אָ֑רֶץ (kol-ʾafsei-ʾaretz) – Root: כל, אפס, ארץ; Form: Construct chain; “all the ends of the earth”; Notes: The phrase emphasizes global scope. “אַפְסֵי” is the construct plural of “אֶפֶס” (extremity, end).

  6. אֲנִי־אֵ֖ל (ʾani-ʾel) – Root: אני, אל; Form: Independent pronoun + noun; Translation: “I am God”; Notes: Strong assertion of divine identity.
  7. וְאֵ֥ין (ve-ʾein) – Root: אין; Form: Conjunction + particle of non-existence; Translation: “and there is not”; Notes: Used to deny the existence of any other deity.
  8. עֹֽוד (ʿod) – Root: עוד; Form: Adverb; Translation: “other,” “beside,” or “still”; Notes: Used here to express exclusivity—no other god exists besides YHWH.
