Jeremiah 22:29

אֶ֥רֶץ אֶ֖רֶץ אָ֑רֶץ שִׁמְעִ֖י דְּבַר־יְהוָֽה׃ ס

Land, land, land, hear the word of YHWH.

Morphology

  1. אֶ֥רֶץ (ʾerets) – Root: ארץ; Form: Noun, feminine singular absolute, with conjunctive accent; Translation: “land”; Notes: The repetition (tripling) is emphatic, a rhetorical summons to the land—likely referring to the land of Yehudah or Yerushalayim as the context suggests.
  2. אֶ֖רֶץ (ʾerets) – Root: ארץ; Form: Repetition of same noun; Translation: “land”; Notes: Adds to the intensity of the prophetic address.
  3. אָ֑רֶץ (ʾerets) – Root: ארץ; Form: Final repetition with strong disjunctive accent (atnah); Translation: “land”; Notes: Final of the emphatic triad; comparable to a vocative summons.
  4. שִׁמְעִ֖י (shimʿi) – Root: שמע; Form: Qal imperative feminine singular; Translation: “hear”; Notes: Addressed to the feminine noun *ʾerets*; conveys a direct command to listen.
  5. דְּבַר־ (devar) – Root: דבר; Form: Noun, masculine singular construct; Translation: “word of”; Notes: Construct form introducing the genitive (YHWH).
  6. יְהוָֽה (YHWH) – Root: Proper noun; Form: Divine name; Translation: “YHWH”; Notes: The speaker is the prophet, but the source is the LORD Himself.
