Genesis 4:15

ויאמר לו יהוה לכן כל הרג קין שבעתים יקם וישם יהוה לקין אות לבלתי הכות אתו כל מצאו׃

And YHWH said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Qayin, vengeance will be exacted on him sevenfold.” And YHWH put a sign on Qayin, lest he will be beaten by anyone who found him.

וַאֲמַר לֵיהּ יְיָ בְּכֵין כָּל קַטוֹלַיָא קַיִן לְשַׁבְעָא דָרִין יִתְפְּרַע מִינֵּיהּ וְשַׁוִּי יְיָ לְקַיִן אָתָא בְּדִיל דְּלָא לְמִקְטַל יָתֵיהּ כָּל דְּיִשְׁכְּחִינֵּיהּ:
And YeYa said to him, “There­fore whoever kills Qayin, it shall be avenged on him unto seven generations.” And YeYa put on Qayin a sign so that he will not be killed by anyone who found him.

And the LORD God said to him, “It shall not be so; anyone who kills Kain shall suffer sevenfold vengeance.” And the LORD God placed a sign on Kain so that he will not be killed by anyone who found him.

And the LORD said to him, “Not so, but anyone who kills Cain, shall pay revenge secen times. This is the mark that the LORD set upon Cain, that anyone who found him should not kill him.
